Unfunded Research
Unfunded research has the lowest priority of any activity which involves Biostatistics and Data Management. In spite of this, the Cancer Center would like to support of this activity whenever possible. In some cases, initial pilot research is needed to write a successful grant. In other cases, the Cancer Center wishes to support faculty (especially junior faculty) to establish themselves through publication. In yet other cases, some important finding coming from an unfunded project needs to be presented. In these cases, investigators will prepare a short (at most two pages) but reasonably complete "unfunded research analysis request". This request will then be reviewed, and based on merit and resource availability, analytical support may be provided. An e-mail reply will be sent to the investigator within two weeks of receipt.
