Upload your images and files into UNC database

1) UNC Microarray Database (UMD)

  • Go to UNC database web site: https://genome.unc.edu/
  • Fill out the “Registration Form” online and submit to set up your user name and get your password. Your user name and password will be automatically emailed to you.
  • After login to the UMD (https://genome.unc.edu/), under “Enter Data”; find and click "upload file" to load your file from your computer to the UMD.
2 ) How to match your array data to the correct Gal-file
  • Go back to "Enter Data" page; click "Experiment and Results".
  • Click "Enter a New Experiment into the Database"; choose the correct organism such as Human or mouse.
  • Choose correct scanner: Example: choose Agilent if your array was scanned by Agilent Scanner.
  • Select correct Print Name: Example: Your array is Agilent human regular 44K array. You should select Agi-Scanner-Reg-Hum-4x44K-D20060807 as your UNC MD print name.
  • Fill same bar code for all 4 arrays for each of 4x44K slide
  • You have to load each of your array files one by one. You also need to wait awhile to allow the database time to transfer your files. You will get an email to tell you your data was successfully transferred!
3) How to see your array data
    After all four files are loaded in database and match your array gal-files, you can view their details and check their quality. Select "Advanced Results Search" in "Search" section. Choose based on experiment name and array categories and subcategories, press display data button. You are now at the "Search Results" page. Your arrays are listed and you can choose to see your raw data, image of array spots, and many ways to plot raw data to analyze their quality.
