Lineberger Club Lunch and Basketball Game

Despite the winter weather, over 300 people attended the Lineberger Club lunch and basketball game on January 19. Guest speakers included Dr. Tom Shea, director of the UNC Lineberger Bone Marrrow and Stem Cell Transplantation Program, and Butch Davis, cancer survivor and head coach of the UNC-Chapel Hill Football team.

Following the lunch at the Hill Alumni Center, participants attended the UNC men’s basketball game against Maryland.

Special thanks to corporate partners Embarq, Lee-Moore Oil and Café Carolina and Wachovia Wealth Management for underwriting this year’s lunch. Silent auction items, including basketballs signed by coaches and team members and basketball game tickets raised over $4500 for UNC Lineberger cancer prevention, research and treatment programs.
