Sole Sisters VIII Exercise Program for Women Begins Recruitment

CHAPEL HILL - Increasing evidence demonstrates that participating the Sole Sisters program can help improve overall fitness and can help gain a few new friends. Women over the age of 21 who are interested in becoming active and who have no regular exercise program can join Sole Sisters VIII exercise program at no cost. The program runs 14 weeks long and will begin on March 11.

At the end of the program, participants aim to complete the Komen NC Triangle Race for the Cure on June 14, 2008. Participants will meet every Tuesday evening until the race.

An orientation will be held for those interested in participating from 6 to 8 p.m. on Feb. 26 in the Sunflower Room of the Friday Center. Participants must register for the orientation. Registration for orientation is limited to the first 100 women. To register, call Holly Rio at (919) 966-5905.

A registration form and a medical release form are available to download. Downloading these forms does not register you for the program. You must call to register.

If you already walk or run and are interested in volunteering at the weekly training sessions, call Judy Swasey at (919)843-8057.
