Cancer Genome Atlas Project Scientists from across US meet at UNC Lineberger aiming to decipher the genome of glioblastomas

CHAPEL HILL, NC - Faculty from member institutions involved in the Cancer Genome Atlas Project met at UNC for an intensive week of methodology development and analysis aimed at deciphering the cancer genome of glioblastomas, a type of brain tumor.

UNC Lineberger is one of seven institutions in the country that received funding from the National Cancer Institute and the National Human Genome Research Institute, both parts of the National Institutes of Health.

Representatives were from the NCI, Lawrence Berkley National Laboratory in Berkley, CA, and the Broad Institute of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston, MA.
