- UNC Nicotine Dependence Program
The UNC Nicotine Dependence Program Clinic offers a comprehensive
treatment plan for anyone interested in quitting smoking or other
tobacco use. Cessation sessions are covered by Medicaid, Medicare, and
most insurance plans. Those without health insurance can receive
services at reduced costs. The clinic is located in the UNC Family

- NC State Health Plan Offers Another New Program to Help You Quit Smoking
As of January 1, 2007 the State Health Plan (SHP) covers
over-the-counter (OTC) nicotine replacement therapy (NRT). Starting April 10, 2007, the SHP waives the $5 co-pay if the member
combines approved smoking cessation counseling with the use of NRT. For more information about this program, see the flyer.

number. A quitting specialists are available to assist you with

UNC Chapel Hill EHS has developed a multipurpose, comprehensive web site
to inform employees about the smoke-free campus and to assist those
wanting to quit using tobacco.

They are from the government and they really are here to help - in this
case, help you or someone you care about stop smoking. This site
provides information and links to professional assistance to support
both your immediate and long-term needs as you become, and remain, a
nonsmoker.
