Services:
The Flow Cytometry Facility provides state-of-the-art analytic and sorting technologies and services to Cancer Center members.
The Facility supports analyses for various applications and different cell types:
cell surface immunofluorescence using one-four color analysis
cytoplasmic or nuclear antigen immunofluorescence
univariate cell cycle and ploidy analysis using propidium iodide labeling or bivariate S-phase analysis with BrdU
Apoptosis monitoring using single or two color methods, including TdT fragment labeling
calcium mobilization
The Facility performs sorting of cell populations:
to purify cells based on cell membrane molecules or other labels
to isolate, enrich, or clone mutants and cells expressing transfected gene products
The Facility offers data analysis using a variety of flow cytometric data analysis software packages.
Facility staff can help with generation of publication quality graphics.
The Facility offers training or consultation in the following areas:
instrumentation theory, instrument operation by investigators and their staff, and data acquisition and analysis. Analysis software is available to investigators for use on their own lab computers or free of charge on the Facility computer.
