Download sequences from the campus sequencing facility using the Terminal (posted 030113)

You can use this command-line utility to check the sequencing facility server for your sequences, and to download the sequences if they are ready. Type 'dnafac.py -h' for a full description.

You must have Developer Tools for 10.2 installed
Make sure you have installed Noah's utilities (see instructions below)

Create or move to a folder you want to contain the sequences.
In Terminal, move to the above directory: type 'cd' and a space (don't hit retuen); drag the icon for the folder from the finder onto the terminal window; hit return.
type 'dnafac.py -names' - now follow the instructions.
